This is a prototype for Salem "Spring Song," a 1950s pattern that Viktor Schreckengost designed for the Sears "Harmony House" line, perhaps to be sold directly to consumers shopping at a Sears store (versus via catalog orders).
The motif features a bouquet of various spring flowers in bright and pastel colors. There is a 1952 date on the back, along with a backstamp bearing the proposed name.
Perfect condition, without any nicks, chips, hairlines, or repairs. I also do not find any utensil marks on this 10" dinner plate.
Purchased from an estate sale held in the artist's home, when the house was finally sold to someone else.
