    Original 20th Century-Fox Style A Stone Lithograph One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Walter Lang drama, SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY (1946) starring John Payne, Maureen O'Hara, William Bendix, Cedric Hardwicke, and Connie Marshall. While employing the theme of a young couple adopting a child, this incarnation has the mother dying and leaving the child to cope with the loss personally while also helping her adoptive father overcome his bereavement. The title comes from the mother's love of listening to records and in particular her favorite hit tune of the day, "Sentimental Journey." Sentiment, tragedy, and even a touch a comedy (thanks to William Bendix) combine beautifully in this winning and charming story. This poster is a beautiful example of the Fox stone-lithographer's craft. Beautiful.
