Description
This is the, very rare, souvenir theatre program from the amazing Orson Welles theatrical production, "Citizen Kane"."Citizen Kane" was not accepted well, by the theater goers of 1941. Needless to say, it became the treasure of 1941, and now is part of great theatre history.
Size: 9" x 12". Binding is clean and strong.
This program is in amazingly great condition - no folds, no rips, and no writing. There is a small hand stamp in light red, which looks as though it was part of the program (see the photograph of the front cover). There is minimal light browning ( I mention this, only to be accurate).
The book is tight - in fact, it has not been laid flat, and kept in a plastic sleeve throughout it's life.
I purchased this program from a collector of live theatre programs and movie memorabilia. Every piece, in his collection, was a showpiece.
Inside this souvenir program, was a newspaper article concerning the opening of "Citizen Kane". The newspaper article was printed on December 5, 1941. It is included in this auction.
At my age (79), I am beginning to sell a lifelong, eclectic, collection of unique artwork. I enjoyed this great collection. Now, it's time to share it with others.
If you'll notice, I will be selling my entire collection, which I have accumulated for over 50 years. My feedbacks reflect my honesty and fairness. I have been selling on Ebay for over fifteen years, but, now it is time to share this great collection of paintings, etchings, music memorabilia, jazz and rock records, statues, political history, antique books, vaudeville, Louis Armstrong, and genuine, original, signed photos and, etc., etc.
Thank you for looking - and please keep me on your favorite sellers list. If YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, I AM VERY COMMUNICATIVE.
Best Regards,
JIMMY N
